Frequently Asked Questions about New Hope Church
What will the worship service be like?
When you attend a worship service at New Hope you will experience a warm and friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcomed. Most services begin with music, which is led by a worship leader along with a live band. The music is modern in style (think guitars and drums) but ancient in message (think scriptural based songs and hymns). There is also a teaching time that is focused on God’s Word, and relevant to the real issues that we all face in our daily lives. You can expect to be both encouraged and challenged by Pastor Matt or another member of our teaching team. The Sunday service lasts approximately 70 minutes.
What time should I get there?
Although the service begins at 10:30am many people arrive by 10:00am, to have a relaxed conversation over a hot cup of coffee. If it’s your first time coming to New Hope, plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before the service starts. That will give you time to park, check your kids in to their classrooms and grab a cup of coffee before the service begins. Then you’ll want to make sure you get into the auditorium before the music starts. We’ll give you a heads up when we’re about to begin.
What should I wear?
Don’t worry about wearing “your Sunday best” to New Hope. We dress fairly casually around here (so it’s okay to leave that tie at home). Very likely the teaching pastor will be wearing blue jeans. In fact, when the weather warms up, don’t be surprised to see lots of people in shorts. In other words, feel free to come as you are.
What about my kids?
New Hope Kids has Sunday morning programming designed for children from birth through fifth grade. Your child will experience age-appropriate teaching, music and fun activities designed to introduce them to the life-changing journey of following Jesus Christ. Each New Hope Kids environment is led by a team of caring volunteers who will be there each week to make sure your child has a great time at New Hope. If you have middle school or high school kids be sure to have them check out Student IMPACT! on Saturday evenings.
